The TwangBangers

Bill Kirchen, Redd Volkaert, Dallas Wayne, Joe Goldmark

After more than twenty years, it takes a very cool event like the Outlaw Country Cruise to bring together this special one-of-a-kind reunion! The legendary HighTone honky-tonk supergroup The TwangBangers is made up of Bill Kirchen, Redd Volkaert, Joe Goldmark and Dallas Wayne. This rocking unit of talented and experienced roots and country veterans delivers a double-Telecaster attack by Kirchen and Volkaert that complements Goldmark's innovative pedal steel and Wayne’s hardcore country baritone. According to Vintage Guitar magazine, “Whether it’s swampy rock and roll, swinging country, or twangin’ fun, it’s all here. Recommended for all guitarists, but especially Tele enthusiasts.”

Bill Kirchen - Somewhere between steering Commander Cody’s “Hot Rod Lincoln” into a top-10 hit, and scoring a Grammy nomination for Best Country Instrumental Performance, Kirchen coined the term ‘dieselbilly’ to describe his signature guitar sound. His career has put him at the forefront of many musical movements, including outlaw country and the Americana genre with the original hippie country band, Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen.

Redd Volkaert - Grammy-winner and guitar-playing legend Redd Volkaert is renowned for being one of the greatest Telecaster players in the country music world and beyond. Well-known for performing with Merle Haggard’s band The Strangers and the famed supergroup Heybale!, Volkaert also is a recording artist and singer/songwriter in his own right.

Joe Goldmark - Joe Goldmark has a unique vision for the steel guitar. He started recording in 1980, and has nine of his own albums (three vinyl, six CDs) featuring rock, pop, soul and world music played on this "country" instrument. He's successfully adapted many melodic and fun songs to the pleasing sound of the pedal steel guitar, as well as writing many of his own interesting originals.

Dallas Wayne - Singer/ songwriter and SiriusXM personality Dallas Wayne has performed on some of the most hallowed stages in country music, from the Grand Ole Opry and Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic, to appearances on “Country’s Family Reunion” and “Larry’s Country Diner.” His most recent album, Coldwater, Tennessee was released in April 2022.
