Eddie Angel's Guitar Party

Eddie Angel's Guitar Party

Eddie Angel grew up in a house where Elvis records were constantly playing courtesy of his two older sisters. His brain was wired to play like Chuck Berry and Scotty Moore by the time he picked up the guitar at age 12. His early music education was rounded out by a copy of "Learn to play Guitar with The Ventures" and wearing out every Beatles record he owned.

In 1980 Eddie joined rockabilly legend Tex Rubinowitz and The Bad Boys. It was here that he honed his chops playing in the rich music scene of Washington, DC....Link Wray's old stomping grounds. During this period, Eddie recorded his first 45, "Rampage" b/w" Lynxtail"...an homage to his new guitar hero, Link Wray. 1986 Eddie moved to Nashville where his band The Planet Rockers was formed with Sonny George, Mark Winchester and Billy Thunder. The Planet Rocker's LP "Coming in Person" would become a cult classic and the band continues to play festivals around the world.

1995 Eddie went to legendary Toe Rag studios in London and wrote/recorded The Neanderthals LP "Latest Menace to the Human Race"....it was a tip of the hat to his favorite garage frat rock bands, The Trashmen and The Sonics. Eddie formed the guitar instrumental group Los Straitjackets. Los Straitjackets continue to tour and record today. Their recording with Eddy The Chief Clearwater, "Rock and Roll City" was nominated for Best Traditional Blues Grammy in 2004. He has toured and recorded with English songwriter/producer Nick Lowe and rockabilly legends Ronnie Dawson and Robert Gordon. Eddie's songs have been used in TV, movies and commercials.
